Do you accommodate any skill levels (e.g. beginners or advanced players)?

Yes! BetterPlayer is for everyone. If you've never kicked a ball or you're coming off of a college soccer career, BetterPlayer has programs for you.

We group players by skill level based on the following "L-System":

L1: Beginner: You have zero or a bit of soccer knowledge. You have a rudimentary understanding of the basics.

L2: Intermediate: You've likely played competitively at some organized level (most likely in high-school). You're feel athletic, capable of playing up or down and have a solid grasp of the fundamentals.

L3: Advanced: You've played at a high level (e.g. college or beyond), have a fluent understanding of the game and are looking to continue learning and developing your already sophisticated skills.

Goalkeeper: Currently our Goalkeeper practices are open to all levels.

What does L1, L2 and L3 mean?

How many practices are there?

Each full program is a set of 9 practices (classes) in most of the cases.

How long do practices last?

Our default practices run for about one hour, however duration may vary depending on the class.

Can I trial a practice before committing?

Yes, Single classes are available for purchase on each program's page and when you register and verify your account for the first time you will also receive 10 Free Credits.

How many players are in each program?

There are anywhere between 4 and 20 players in each program.

Are practices on when it rains?

Yes, we prioritize keeping practices on as long as the field conditions are safe. We will not start or continue if there is active dangerous weather (lightning, thunder, etc.).

What do I bring to practice?

Always bring a soccer ball (Size 5 preferred), wear comfy clothes, soccer shoes (cleats, turfs, sneakers will work in most of the cases) and enough hydration (water etc.).

Are cleats required in outdoor practices?

No, cleats are not required. In fact, we recommend turf shoes over cleats for all synthetic fields (artificial ground, multi ground, or turf cleats).

Cleats with metal studs are not allowed.

In addition, certain locations do have restrictions. For instance, the NYC Parks Department requires only soccer boots designed for synthetic turf.

Does BetterPlayer provide jerseys?

Yes, every player that signs up for a full program will receive their own BetterPlayer jersey.

Do you offer pick-up games?

Yes! We run weekly pick-up games reserved to our BetterPlayers, and leagues through our official partner NYC FOOTY.

How can I purchase credits?

To choose the amount of credits you'd like to purchase, click on Pricing in the top navigation bar to be directed to our new Purchase Credits page. Once you’ve landed on our Purchase Credits page, simply follow these instructions to complete the checkout process:

1) In the top right corner,  move your trackpad or mouse arrow over to the slider located in the top right corner of the page. By moving your trackpad or mouse arrow from left to right, you’ll see the amount of credits increase the further you move to the right hand side.

2) Credits can be purchased in increments of two beginning with a minimum purchase of 10 credits and a maximum of 250 credits. If you’d like to purchase more than 250 credits, you’ll just need to repeat the above steps after completing your original transaction.

3) Once you’ve selected your total number of credits, you can complete the checkout process by clicking ‘Purchase’ and filling out all the relevant payment information required.

Do credits expire?

Yes. All credit purchases up to 199 credits will expire four months from their original date of purchase. For any credit purchase valued at 200 credits or greater, players will have six months from the original date of purchase to redeem their credits. You can view the expiration date of your credits in the Credits section of your Account Settings.

How many credits does a class cost?

Since the cost of a class is based on its scheduled length of time, the cost per class varies. At this current time, our cost per class is as follows:

- A 60 minute class is valued at 8 credits

- A 75 minute class is valued at 10 credits

- A 90 minute class is valued at 12 credits

- Pickups are valued at 2 credits

- Clinics are valued at 3 credits

Do classes cost more with credits?

Well, this depends because the more credits you purchase, the more cost effective a single class will be so long as you’ve purchased 25 credits or more.

What is your cancellation policy?

Players are free to cancel 12 hours before an event is scheduled to take place, and they will receive the full credit back into their account (not valid when purchasing a Full Program option, read below). If a cancellation takes place less than 12 hours before a scheduled event, no credit reimbursement will be applied. Cancellations are required and no shows may incur a fee. Full program participants who miss one class can schedule one free make up date by contacting us at info@betterplayer.com.

What is your refund policy regarding credit purchases?

All credit purchases are final sale and refunds cannot be issued once a transaction is complete.

Will BetterPlayer continue to offer one free class when a player registers for a free account?

When registering for a free BetterPlayer account, players will now receive 10 free credits after signing up which can be applied to cover the cost of one 75 minute BetterPlayer class.

What If I already have a BetterPlayer account?

If you already have a BetterPlayer account, you'll also receive a gift of 10 credits to help you get started choosing an upcoming BettterPlayer offering.

What If I already earned credits from BetterPlayer’s referral program? Will those transfer over?

All previous credits acquired from participating in BetterPlayer’s referral program will transfer over to your account, and all existing credits earned will appear in the “Credits” section of your Account Settings.

I no longer have an option to choose class packs, a 30-Day, or Seasonal Passport. Will you be bringing back those pricing packages?

You will no longer see an option to purchase class packs, a 30-Day Passport, or a Seasonal Passport. Instead, you will have the option to purchase credit amounts that are the equivalent of these packages.

Will the amount of credits be displayed next to all BetterPlayer experiences?

Yes. All BetterPlayer event listings will now display their total cost in credits, so you can see in advance how many credits you need to purchase before booking your spot in the experience you want.

Where can I view the total amount of credits purchased?

1. You can view your credit balance in BetterPlayer's new “Credit” section within the top navigation bar.

2. In your Account Settings, you'll see an option to select "Credits." After selecting “Credits,” you’ll be able to view your credit balance as well as the date your credits expire, as well as a credit history which shows which BetterPlayer experiences.

What’s the value in purchasing a larger amount of credits?

The more credits you acquire at once, the more cost efficient your per class expense will be. When selecting your total credits, you’ll see a discount appear to indicate the total amount saved. Our credit tiers and the savings each offers are as follows:

- 50 Credits for $175 (A 22% Discount)

-100 Credits for $300 (A 33% Discount)

-200 Credits for $399 (A 55% Discount)

Are credits the only way I can now register for BetterPlayer experiences?

Yes. Beginning with our Fall 2024 season, registration for all BetterPlayer experiences (individual classes, bootcamps, full programs, pick ups, and clinics) will now require the purchase of credits first before making your selection.

Will you be offering any memberships, gift cards, or additional perks as part of your updated pricing?

BetterPlayer's advanced membership options and perks are still evolving, so please expect additional updates in the near future as we aim to provide you additional value.
